The Media Makeup & Theatre event comes to Birmingham on the 12th March 2016. This is the first professional industry event of its type, featuring the diversity within the media industry, complimenting sfx, prosthetics, costume, props, hair, body painting and creative arts. The event showcases the many art forms which are present within the UK, by professional artists and students working in collaboration.
The event has been designed to engage students, artists, lecturers and enthusiasts, who will be able to engage in this educational event, with a hands-on experience to learning and acquiring new skill sets in an intimate show setting.
The Event has 3 Platforms:–
The Professional Exhibitor Area- Where professional artists and companies will be able to showcase their expertise and talent to all attending. This is a paid exhibitor area and goods can be sold here.
The Creative Artist Area – Showcasing artists from all over the UK. These include, Illustration, Fine Art, Body Art, Sculpting and Animatronics, to name a few. Our artists in this area will be creating and developing Live Art to showcase to the public, with a finished result at the end of the show. This is a No Sales Allowed Area.
Student Artist Competition – We are hosting students from around the UK, who are coming together to showcase their makeup skills in our competition, with a staggering prize fund of £1500 in professional products.
Free Micro Taster Classes are open to all who wish to take a workshop within a hands-on area. These allow each brand to provide a unique and personal insight into their own brand to new customers, by showcasing their expertise in their field.
This event is also in collaboration with Birmingham Metropolitan College. Andrew Sylvester, Arts Director, has given his full endorsement of the event. Students will have the added experience of working on the event, which will also enhance their portfolios for future employment opportunities.
